DAILY PROCEDURES IN THE CLASSROOM

Procedures are a part of life. We follow procedures for using a telephone book, boarding an airplane, approaching a traffic light, and attending a wedding. The reason we have procedures in life is so that people can function in society knowing the acceptable and efficient ways people do things. A procedure is not a rule. A procedure is simply a method or process for getting things done in the classroom. By following procedures, you maximize your learning potential in the classroom environment. By not following a procedure, you might struggle with an assignment, cause a disruption, or spend time asking questions as to how to do something rather than using the class time efficiently. There are also procedures in this classroom. These procedures establish our classroom culture.

Entering the classroom. 1. Come to class every day prepared. You need a pencil, a piece of paper, as well as your class folder, and any other classroom materials. 2. Enter the classroom quietly. 3. Grab any materials that you may need for the class period (including your classroom binder) immediately upon entering. Do not ask to borrow a pencil or paper after the bell has rang.
