Wise Men

Still Seeking

Copyright Joseph Markenstein January 10, 2014

Through the blistering cold, some Bold Knights known as kings sought the Christ. In winters grasp, the hills of Bether are rarely traveled and least of all near the sole tip of solstice when night is long and days are surpliced over the looming night. These Bold Knights of the order of Melchizedek, those just kings who were bearers of the sacred gifts, consorted with the aster and its star to see where their orders wishes were to be consumed. Bethlehem was to be the final resting place of these long prized possessions which had been taken from the ark at Noahs place of rest on Ararat; that despoilment of the human race whence God could take no more impudence and spate the human race across its face! This Gold, this Frankincense, this Myrrh murmured of history so ancient it would say Eden with only the hush of its passive presents. Folded in parcels too old to analogue are stories of the Angel with that dreadful and most terrible flaming sword; who with all mercy did clemently bestow upon Adam and Eve these precious Presents. With these, those of our first parents did huddle up for spiritual comfort and chaleur in a small cave under the Garden down from Eden; as Jesus shall do so far in the future for them. Balthazrar the Arabian scholar told his bold companions that they were near to the original location of the Garden of Eden by the stars empathy. Where-ever it would lead them he said, would be where the cave of treasures was before the great flood and their blood line would be quite requite for giving the gifts to the God who bleeds. So the Persian Melchior, another scholar of variegated collar, said in reply: How will we know? Who can know much less see the face of God and live? Caspar the Indian Scholar said: I hope not to bore you Melchior but youre not relying on faith. When He sees us, we will be called by Him! The star stopped at Bethlehem over a small cave where herds were heard herding. Light effulged and indulged the senses with an harmony of silence or a symphony of rests. It held and released the spirit, leading to a profundity that made space of time outside space and time; so much so, that when the onlooker returned from this flight of fantastic illuminationno time had passed at all. Joseph humbly accepted these gifts from the Magi while all enjoyed this ecstatic recollection of Love in this: the Christ Child! Though no one knew, Joseph shrewdly placed these costly gifts in the Temple Of Solomon in Jerusalem. From House of Bread, for that Bethlehem is, to the House of Peace were placed The Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh; Jerusalems Solomons Temple now gives them eternal home. Now it awaits its day! For one day in some thirties of years, these Presents shall have presented themselves for the salvation of the whole human race through the grace of the Holy Cross!
