Main Idea

The clothing we wear and the trends that appear represent the political, economic, and
social trends of the moment. Using the iPads, we will be exploring some of the major
clothing eras in American history, and how these garments reflected the personality and
history of the times.
Supporting Details

This project has 4 parts:


I. Analyze a famous quote in American history, researching its speaker and
historical context
II. Research this era and 3-4 commonly worn garments or accessories
III. Justify how one of these clothing items is representative of your era
IV. Create a collage using the PicCollage app using photos of the decade and its
clothes

Helpful Terms
Main Idea- a primary topic within an idea (a.k.a thesis, central idea, the point)
Supporting Detail- used to explain, describe, or give an example that proves the
main idea is true. (a.k.a. fact, evidence, example, reason)
Era- a long or distinct period of time with unique characteristics
Decade- a 10 year period (ex. 1970s, 2000s)

Any sources used should be cited in the bibliography section
Your PicCollage must contain:
A Title (ex: Peace & Love: The Funky Fashions of the 1970s)

A photo of the speaker of the quote
Photos of significant events of the decade
Photos of at least 2 of your decades clothing trends
