MEET AT HUAKAILANI SCHOOL
ADOPT-A-BLOCK
COMMUNITY CLEANUP TO REMOVE LITTER AND
STENCIL STORM DRAINS WITH THE MESSAGE, “DUMP NO WASTE”
Goals
1. Create awareness of non-point source
pollution and water quality issues Partners
City and County of Honolulu Adopt-A-Stream Program (sponsor)
2. Provide information on protecting our
waters to specific audiences Huakailani (adoptees)
Kailua residents and businesses,
3. Encourage partnerships between HPD Community Policing District 4,
citizens and local government Neighborhood Board, Public Officials, and more!
4. Motivate positive behavior change to
keep streams healthy

What you need to know


to volunteer:
1. All volunteers must sign a release
form at http://www.cleanwaterhonolulu.
com/storm/hero/Adopt%20-%20Release.
pdf; turn in to Christina Zimmerman

2. Wear cool, comfortable clothes that


you don’t maind getting a little dirty,
covered shoes, sunscreen, a hat,
gloves, and water
3. Adopt-A-Block trash pick up
the following week at a designated
location near Huakailani School

4. Supplies provided by the City and


County of Honolulu
Adopt-A-Stream Program
Cleanup includes removing litter and stenciling storm drains on Hekili Street!
