Kinder Prep News

February News
During the month of February we will continue discussing all about our bodies. We will turn our focus to how to keep them healthy and then start to talk about our teeth. We will finish the month talking about our Five Senses. During the week of Presidents Day (Feb 17th) we will be discussing Patriotism. This month we will be having a Valentines celebration on February 14. Please plan on having your child bring in a valentine for his/her classmates.

Important Dates
Monday, February 17 There is No School in observance of Presidents Day. We will be having class on Thursday, February 20.

February Skills
This month in our Literacy/Letter Time, we will be moving on to Diagonals and I will be introducing the letters Rr, Kk, Aa, and Vv. This month in the Math Center, I will be focusing on labeling, combining, taking away, and sharing sets. This will be accomplished with a variety of manipulatives and number cards. This months character education topic is patriotism. I will be introducing the character trait through reading books about America and the Pledge of Allegiance. This topic ties in nicely with Presidents Day, which we will also be talking about this month.

Wednesday, February 28 is Red/Pink Show-N-Tell Day. Have your child come dressed in red/pink, share something red/pink, and we will have a red/pink snack as well!
