Dear Parents, I hope everyone had a restful weekend. Below are the things we will be doing this week. Lets have fun learning. :) Literacy We are reading some great books: Owl Babies, An Octopus is Amazing, Orange Juice, and Off We Go. In literacy this week we are creating an owl crafts . The children will be exploring ABC matching using clothes pins and cards. They will be practicing writing family words using white boards. We are also learning sight words please review the following words for reinforcement: is, the, I, a, play, it, to. Math In math the children will review interpreting ordinal numbers (first, second, last) and writing number 1-5. They will be introduced to heavier and lighter concept. The children will be practicing how the numbers are form and will be writing them using sand, paint, and other fun ways. They will also be measuring mass of different items in the classroom. Unit Sharing the Planet, Central Idea: The Interdependence of insects and other living things impact our environment. For learner profile for this unit we are learning to be Knowledgeable and Principled.

Home Connection: Read daily with your child . Have your child practice writing his/her name. This week is Oo ( Big Curve Big Curve) Help Draw: Have your child draw their favorite insect to share in class. Please always feel free to
capture a picture of your child learning at home and send it via-email to me or an actual picture to share in class. Thank you for all your support and working hard with child. :)
