    Soap sticks have been the most widely applied method of dewatering gas wells for many years. Automatic soap stick launchers have eliminated the requirement for an operator to be present to drop soap sticks. However, soap sticks launchers typically operate on time. A better method for dropping soap sticks could be to only drop the sticks as needed to keep the well above the critical rate and if this is not successful, to shut the well in until it builds up enough pressure to resume flow above the critical rate and resume the soap stick dropping cycle. Results will be shown from two installations in South Te as tight gas wells where soap sticks are dropped using custom software residing in the !"# based on the Turner Rate.
