Vertical Angle: the angles opposite each other when two lines cross. Linear Pair: The two supplementary adjacent angles formed by two intersecting lines. Complementary Angle: either of two angles whose sum is 90. Supplementary Angle: either of two angles whose sum is 180. Adjacent Angle: those that share a common leg or ray. Corresponding Angle: When two lines are crossed by another line (which is called the Transversal), the angles in matching corners are called corresponding angles. Same Side Interior: Angles that lie between two lines and are on the same side of the transversal. Alternate Interior: Each pair of these angles is inside the parallel lines, and on opposite sides of the transversal. Alternate Exterior: When two parallel lines are cut by a transversal, the two pairs of angles on opposite sides of the transversal and outside the parallel lines, and the angles in each pair are congruent. Acute Angles: an angle less than 90 degrees but more than 0 degrees Right Angles: an angle of 90, as in a corner of a square or at the intersection of two perpendicular straight lines. Obtuse Angles: an angle between 90 and 180 degrees. Straight Angles: an angle of 180.
