Impact

If I had to choose one value from these religions to be a major piece of my civilization, I would choose the Christian teaching of loving your neighbor. If everyone in a civlization loves one another, there is no fighting, no hate, and everybody gets along. Its the perfect situation for any civilization. In the text, it states that moral law states that you should love your neighbor as you love yourself ( rey !"!#. Crime would plummet, things would get accomplished easier, and nobody would be spiteful to one another. $veryone could live in peace as friends.

If my civilization were part Muslim, it would impact it in a positive way because the belief in Zakat requires 2.5% of a familys income to go to the poor. This would help reduce poverty. Also, their mutual beliefs in the moral values of would bring people together, as it promotes fellowship and gives the people something in common. Zakat is great to have in a civilization because poverty always proves to be a huge issue, and although 2.5% doesnt seem like much, it really adds up when that income is being donated by an amount of families that outnumber the poor. In the Quran, at one point it is stated, Those who give to charity night and day, secretly and publicly, receive their recompense from their Lord; they will have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve (2:274). This shows that the Muslim religion teaches that kindness will be rewarded. Although it wouldnt cure poverty entirely, it would be a good step in the right direction. Islam is also important to society because it would encourage people to treat one another in a brotherhood-like way, and people would be happier, healthier, and more prosperous. Also, pork is not eaten, so pigs will be in lower demand, making raising livestock easier for farmers. My civilization would be more complete as a whole, because having a way to reduce poverty and a common belief system will help my civilization grow and thrive, and Islam will have brought my people closer together.
