Issue Description: Some Lifecycle Visualization Help topics do not display if you try to access them from the table of contents or from links in the Help system. Workaround: Use the search to find and access content in the Lifecycle Visualization Help. All of the topics in the Help are accessible from the search. Issue Description: The Lifecycle Visualization examples include a file called ImmersiveConfig.xml , which you can use to configure the viewer to work with a Virtual Reality Peripheral Network (VRPN). When using ImmersiveConfig.xml, the Video Configuration Description (VCD) and Sensor Configuration Description (SCD) fil es do not load correctly when immersive mode is activated. Workaround: You must change the following settings in the ImmersiveConfig.xml file to poin t to the VCD and SCD files for your current system. Use absolute paths. <VCD_File name="../VCD/Monitor.vcd"/> <SCD_File name="../SCD/InterSense_HeadAndWand.scd"/> Issue Description: When the immersive mode is activated, Lifecycle Visualization does not connect to the VRPN server. Workaround: In the ImmersiveConfig.xml file, set <Auto_Activate name=""/> to a value of VR PN, as shown below: <Auto_Activate name="VRPN"/> Issue Description:

When attempting to convert a DWG file with an embedded OLE object to PDF, you receive an error message. Workaround: If you get an error in Excel when converting the file to PDF, do the following : 1. In Excel, On the File tab, click Options. 2. In the Excel Options, click Trust Center. 3. In the Microsoft Excel Trust Center section, click Trust Center Settings. 4. Click Macro Settings. 5. Select Disable all macros without notification. 6. You may also need to set the following resource settings to 0 in the vvcp.i ni file: - DwgOLERasterQuality=0 - DxfOLERasterQuality=0 These settings require less memory when converting the file. Issue Description: On Linux, embedded viewer dialog boxes can fall behind the main rich client application window. Workaround: Use Gnome Window Manager. Most other Linux window managers do not work correct ly. Issue Description: The Release Notes incorrectly state that Lifecycle Visualization now displays line widths for lines and wireframe PMI the same way as it displays in NX. Workaround: The ability to author PMI with multiple line widths is made available by the JTOpen toolkit version 6.7. Any CAD translator can leverage the functionality in this toolkit to author such PMI in JT data, after which Lifecycle Visualization can display multiple line widths for that data. Note: This requires JT file version 10.0. Issue Description: Advanced visualization effects do not display properly. Workaround: Only certified graphics cards that fully support OpenGL 3.2 or greater are capable of utilizing all of the advanced features of Teamcenter lifecycle visualization. When a graphics card is not capable of rendering an advanced visualization feature due to its OpenGL support level, the visual effect is silently omitted with no ill effects. Features that may not display properly include advanced transparency, Phong shading, bump mapping, and environment

map intensity control. Most lower-end video cards will work with Teamcenter lifecycle visualization if you have the most current graphics driver. However, you may have to reduce the default settings of the Performance troubleshooting slider (located in the 3D Performance settings) to avoid problems with the driver. Unsupported graphics adapters may not support all of the visualization effects offered by the application, or may not perform as well as those that are. Siemens PLM Software classifies graphics cards used for Teamcenter lifecycle visualization as Certified, Recommended, or Supported. Each of these support levels is described below: - Certified: A subset of the recommended graphics cards and drivers are subjected to more rigorous testing both by Siemens PLM Software and our OEM partners. Those that pass are deemed certified for use with a particular version of Teamcenter lifecycle visualization, and you may have additional confidence that the particular combination of hardware and software will work correctly. For certified hardware, Siemens PLM Software will accept reproducible problems that are determined to lie within Teamcenter lifecycle visualization or the graphics driver. If a problem is found with Teamcenter lifecycle visualization, we will fix it directly; if a problem is found with the graphics driver, we will work with the graphics vendor to isolate the issue and assist them as necessary to produce a driver patch. For information on officially certified workstations, video cards, and drivers, visit the Siemens PLM Software support site at the following location: http://support.ugs.com/online_library/certification/ - Recommended: We recommend the professional graphics lines from NVIDIA and AMD. Siemens PLM Software will accept problem reports and work to solve issues related to specific graphics adapters in Teamcenter lifecycle visualization, and we will assist the graphics vendors in isolating driver bugs. For recommended hardware, Siemens PLM Software will accept reproducible problems that are determined to lie within Teamcenter lifecycle visualization or the graphics driver. If a problem is found with Teamcenter lifecycle visualization, we will fix it directly; if a problem is found with the graphics driver, we will work with the graphics vendor to isolate the issue and assist them as necessary to produce a driver patch. We recommend the following graphics adapters: - NVIDIA professional line: Quadro, Quadro FX, Quadro Mobile, Quadro NVS (but not NVS only Quadro NVS). However, please consult the note below concerning specific graphics adapters with limitations. - AMD professional line: FirePro, FirePro Mobility, FireGL - Supported: Siemens PLM Software supports graphics cards meeting a minimum level of OpenGL support: OpenGL 3.2. Though we do not recommend the consumer lines of GPUs from NVIDIA (GeForce) or AMD (Radeon), or Intel Integrated

Graphics, many of them will work well. Some, however, may not. This is because the drivers for the consumer cards emphasize Direct3D for games and are serviced by separate driver development and ISV partner teams. For supported hardware, Siemens PLM Software will accept and handle problems that can be reproduced on a recommended or certified configuration. Problems that cannot be reproduced will not be accepted, and you will be advised to take the issue directly to the graphics card manufacturer. Note: Some recommended and supported graphics cards contain issues that exhibi t significant performance issues, or prevent Teamcenter lifecycle visualization from displaying certain specific features properly, irrespective of their OpenGL support level claims. These include the following: - Very old cards (5+ years old), which may have driver bugs that the ven dor will not fix - Certain Quadro cards, which do not support Advanced Transparency or ha ve significant performance disadvantages: Quadro FX 330 Quadro FX 500 Quadro FX 540 Quadro FX 550 Quadro FX 560 Quadro FX 570 Quadro FX 580 Quadro FX 600 Quadro FX 700 Quadro FX 1000 Quadro FX 1100 Quadro FX 1300 Quadro FX 1400 Quadro FX 2000 Quadro FX 3000 Quadro FX 3400 Quadro FX 3450 Quadro FX 4000 Quadro FX 4400 Quadro 600 (A driver bug as of May 2013 that inhibits performance in Teamcenter Visualization may be corrected in the future.) This does not constitute an exhaustive list, and new or previously unknown limitations may be discovered in existing graphics adapters, o r in future graphics adapters. Issue Description: If you are using the ClearanceDB issue history capture or results-based change detection capabilities introduced in Teamcenter 10.1 lifecycle visualization, uploading ClearanceDB results to the server may require more time than in previous releases.

Workaround: This is normal. These features save time for the administrator by making it easier to manage ClearanceDB products, although when they are enabled the application may require more time to process results. Issue Description: Teamcenter Visualization UI text is not displayed correctly for non-English locales on Linux. Workaround: You must specify the language at the login screen to ensure the X Server loads correct fonts. Note: If you get a "Font Creating Failed" error, see the "Missing UI text on Linux" issue in the Release Notes section of the Help. Issue Description: The Teamcenter 10.1 lifecycle visualization Installation Guide contains a procedure for installing a PostScript printer on Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012, which includes the following step: 10. After rebooting, in the Startup Settings dialog box, press 7 to Disable driver signature enforcement. Pressing 7 to select the Disable driver signature enforcement option may not work for all users. Workaround: In a subsequent release, this step will be updated to the following: 10. After rebooting, in the Startup Settings dialog box, press 7 or the arrow down key to select the Disable driver signature enforcement option. Issue Description: Saving a product view from Lifecycle Visualization to Teamcenter when the product is displayed in Massive Model Visualization (MMV) mode may take additional time to complete. Workaround: This is standard behavior, due to the potential need to expand portions of the product structure. When product structure is loaded in MMV mode, the occurrence paths of the visible parts are not fully expanded. Due to the data model used by Teamcenter product views, the application must expand the occurrence path to all visible parts. Issue Description: Some CGM files generated by Catia V5 with embedded raster data fail to display the image when loaded into Lifecycle Visualization. This is because some CGM data generated by Catia V5 can be invalid based on the CGM specification. The invalid data may not impact the rendering of the image, but any found error can cancel the processing of the image. Workaround: If the CGM specification check is overridden, the image may still display properly. To enable the override, while Lifecycle Visualization is not

running, create an environment variable named TCVIS_IGNORE_CGM_RASTER_ERROR and set it to any value. If any problems loading CGM files are still present, disable the override by deleting the TCVIS_IGNORE_CGM_RASTER_ERROR environment variable and restarting Lifecycle Visualization. Issue Description: When rendering in Massive Model Visualization (MMV) mode, parts may oscillate between the visible and invisible state for brief or extended periods of time. These oscillations may occur when parts are displayed or hidden, or even when a model is rotated. Workaround: Currently, there is no workaround for this issue. Issue Description: Nvidia Quadro FX1800 shows stability issues when Massive Model Visualization (MMV) technology is used to display 3D models in Lifecycle Visualization. The stability issue increases when older graphics' driver versions are used and may occur even with the latest driver. Workaround: Siemens PLM Software recommends that you update with the latest graphics driver on the visualization client machine when such a stability issue is observed. If the latest driver does not completely fix the stability issue, switch to another Nvidia graphics card, such as the FX580. Issue Description: Opening a Technical Illustration (VSD) file in Teamcenter Visualization installed with Visio 2007 and Windows 7 causes the viewer to crash. Workaround: Do either of the following to prevent the application from crashing: - Create an environment variable named TCVIS_PUBLISH_USING_VISIO2007, and set it to a value of True. - Use Visio 2010. ================================================================================ Problem Reports (PRs) ================================================================================ These Problem Reports were resolved after the Release Notes were finalized.
