Dear Parents, We, Miss. Stevenson and Miss. Sivill, have arranged an educational field trip to coincide with our Pioneer themed unit of study. Our class will be visiting the Simcoe County Museum in accordance with Grade 3 Heritage and Identity: Communities in Canada, 1780-1850. Information for Parents This trip will take place mainly outdoors, rain or shine. Please ensure that your child has dressed according to the weather on the day of the trip. We ask that students bring sunscreen, hats, a reusable water bottle, and proper closed-toe footwear (as some of the activities may be hazardous in open-toed shoes). Each student should do their best to bring a litter-less lunch to diminish the amount of waste produced at the site of the trip. Medical Emergency As we will be outside for the majority of the day, we ask that all parents are conscious of potential allergies or medical conditions on the day of the trip. We will be following standard school allergy policy, and ask students to pack peanut-free lunches. If your child has an allergy or medical condition that we have or have not been previously notified of, please specify here.

Behavioural Expectations We would like to remind all Parents and Students that, on the day of the trip, we are representing Cohort G Elementary as guests to the Simcoe County Museum. It is expected that all Teachers, Students and Volounteers behave respectably and courteously in our time as visitors. We will be abiding by and enforcing the Cohort G Elementary Behaviour Policy, as it is a normal school day. Element of Risk Though the Simcoe County Museum is a very safe place to visit, it is in our course of duty to inform all members of attendance (as well as Parents and/or Legal Guardians) of potential risk while off of school property. We notify you that while your student should follow the standard School Safety practices, there is still potential for certain risks while out on a Day Trip. Volounteer Requirements All parental volounteers in attendance on the day of this trip are required to have an Ontario valid Police Background Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening at least 5 days prior to the day of departure. If you are willing to attend as a Parent Volounteer, please ensure that Cohort G Elementary has up-to-date copies of the necessary paperwork.
