Math Reflection

In Pre-Algebra class, we are learning about linear functions specifically finding the slope of a line. To find the slope of a line the there is not many steps. First, you find the two points on the line. Next, you should find the x's and the y's for each of the two points. Then, subtract the first y by the second y over the first x subtracted by the second x. Lastly, if you come out with a unreduced fraction, you need to reduce it. Also, you can graph it by putting your equation in function form. I did well on all of the slope problems after my teacher explained it more. At first, slope was hard and confusing. However, after you do it a lot it becomes much easier. You might use this in everyday life. For example, if you were bike riding and you wanted to calculate how steep the hill was you could use slope. In conclusion, it is good that we learned slope in Pre-Algebra in case we need to calculate the slope of a hill.
