08/19/13 Dear RRHS Staff, I hope you all had a great summer!

I am excited to be here at RRHS as the Assistant Principal Intern for the 2013-14 year. I am currently a graduate student in the Northeast Leadership Academy at NC State working on a Masters in School Administration. I am looking forward to working with the staff, students, and administration here at RRHS. I graduated from RRHS in 1996, and then went to NC State to receive my Bachelors Degree. I have been a classroom teacher for the past 10 years at Chaloner Middle School. During my time at Chaloner, I taught math and science in 6th and 7th grade. I have been a 7th grade math teacher for the past 6 years. My wife Shea and I have been married since 2005. We have two beautiful children, Landen and Delaney. Landen is 6 years old and will be in the 1st grade this year at Manning. Delaney will be 2 years old in September. I am humbled to have the opportunity to come back to RRHS as the Assistant Principal Intern. During the next year, my goal is to be a servant leader for both staff and students at RRHS. As educators, we are faced with many challenges that only we understand. I believe in you and I believe in our school. I am thankful for your dedication and the support you provide for the students at RRHS. I look forward to working with you during this school year. I am confident that working together, we can have a successful year at RRHS.

Sincerely,

Joey Briggs Assistant Principal Intern
