Duncan Elementary School

Sharon A. Coil, Principal February 22, 2014

To Whom it May Concern, Ashley Sack was a student teacher in my kindergarten classroom for sixteen weeks. This experience included teaching in a full day kindergarten following a blended learning model. The class contained a total of twenty-four children including seven students requiring special education support. I am pleased to be able to write a letter of recommendation for Ashley. During Miss Sack's student teaching experience, it was immediately evident that she was dedicated and enthusiastic about her placement. Ashley planned and implemented daily lessons in all subject areas. She successfully demonstrated her awareness of different learning styles and adequately adjusted lessons to meet the varied needs of all students. She was able to focus on children needing extra assistance and on those children requiring more challenging work. Ashley was always willing to accept feedback and adjust aspects of her lessons she thought could be improved. Instruction was provided in a variety of modalities including whole group, small skill groups and individually. Ashley possesses a positive and enthusiastic personality. She developed excellent rapport with students, parents, staff, and administration. She participated in professional development, grade level meetings and planning, parent-teacher conferences, parent trainings, and staff meetings. Other team members accepted her as a strong working member of our team and she had a positive working relationship with each one of them, as well as with other staff members. Overall, Ashley displayed the qualities that make an excellent teacher. I am confident that Miss Sack will be an asset to any staff that she works with. She is knowledgeable and has the skills of a seasoned teacher. I believe that she will continue to grow and become even more effective as a teacher with further opportunities. Please feel free to contact me for further information. Sincerely,

Janet Rhodes
