Platforms
Monticello Media works with its clients in a variety of platforms and areas, from traditional media activities, such as
print & electronic marketing and advertising, to public relations to branding, while also working in new media in
areas such as social media and content video marketing.
New Media
LinkedIn/Facebook
ese two social media giants are where companies can create and grow an online presence. While LinkedIn is
primarily a professional networking tool, right now Facebook is still the place to be for most companies.
Twitter
Depending upon your company or firm, this platform can also be key in reaching your customers and clients, by
allowing you to get your message to your followers quickly and instantly. From tweeting new product or services
info, to posting about news in your industry, Twitter is cost-eective (its free) and easy to learn.
YouTube/Vimeo/Veoh
Creating a channel on a video site could be beneficial in showcasing your business. Content video marketing, which
focuses on telling not selling, is expected to continue to grow in 2014. While the cost of creating an account and
posting video is free, there are production costs in shooting and editing the videos.
Traditional
Print Materials
In addition to direct mail, brochures and flyers, the cost of producing high-quality print pieces is significantly lower
than it was a few years ago, which allows for cost-eective targeted marketing. Additionally, branded merchandise is
also a cost-eective way to get your brands name out and walking around.
Newspapers/Magazines
While new media continues to grow, creating a presence in area and regional newspapers can still be eective,
however it is still quite expensive to maintain a regular presence. Placement in such monthly high-end publications
such as lifestyle magazines can put your name in front of the audience youre looking for.
Television/Radio
Cable advertising is a cost-eective way to reach potential clients. Whether its a B2B campaign on CNBC or a
B2C campaign on ESPN or Lifetime, there are often aordable and flexible avenues to get in front of your market.
Photography
Part of creating and developing a high-end professional image is to have actual high-end professional images.
While we handle photography services for most clients, we will also work with professional commercial
photographers as projects and budgets permit.

e samples below are from an extensive rebranding campaign for the West Central Illinois
Educational Telecommunications Corporation. e company has three television stations
serving central and western Illinois. e objective was to develop a brand that allows the stations
to be under one marketing umbrella. Responsibilities included designing the necessary logos,
collaborative pieces, create the slogan/tag line and implement the elements into the stations onair graphics; also responsible for creating and planning the public/media relations for the
multiple-city launch.

Social media has become a key way to build brand awareness and to communicate with
customers and clients. While most sites and platforms have little-to-no cost for entry,
maintaining a consistent message while generating quality content is critical. We help ensure
that happens for our clients by creating the content for their pages, and/or teaching them how,
and by designing eective advertising campaigns to promote a brand, product or event.

With 20 years in media, including a dozen at a public television station in
Illinois as director of production & senior producer, Monticello Media
founder and principal Scott Troehler has produced award-winning work in
a variety of areas and mediums, including broadcast television, marketing
& advertising (print & television), public relations and digital & social
media.
His international travel experience as a television producer includes
numerous trips to Taiwan and the United Kingdom.
He currently sits on the Board of Governors of the Mid-America Chapter of
the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS), which
presents the EMMYS, as well as other civic boards and committees.
