Thepurposeofspecialeducationwouldtobethattodesignandensurethatevery individualstudentwithadisabilityareprovidedwithanenvironmentinwhichitallowsthe studenttobeeducatedsuccessfully.StudentswithIEPs(IndividualEducationplan)must haveacomprehensivescreeningalongwithdiagnosistomakesurethatthestudentis gettingtherightskillstohelpthemgrowasalearnerandtohelpthemthebestaspossible. Therollsoftheteacherinaspecialeducationroommightdifferfroma generaleducationroom.Suchasinaspecialeducationclassroomtheteacherwouldbeto includemanyrangesofsupportandservices,buttheymustdependonthespecialneeds ofthestudentstheareservingatthetime.ThesupportservicesIwouldintenttoprovide wouldbemyphysicalassistanceandtherapeutichelp.alongwithcounselingandalso assistivelearningdevicesIcouldteachthemtohelpthemwiththeirdisability.Iwouldtend togiveassistanceandgivethemtechniquestohelpthemwiththeireducational assignments,alongwithlivingassistance.TohelpwithbehaviorproblemsIwouldprovide behavioralmodificationtechniques. Iwouldliketothinkthattherollofthespecialeducationstudentwouldtojustbe themselves.Iwouldlikeforthemtovoicethetroublesandstrugglestheyaregoingthrough sothatinanywayIcouldprovideassistancewiththeproblemtheyaretryingtotackleatthe moment.Iwouldalsoliketoshowthestudentshowtousetechnologyorequipmenttohelp servetheirneedstocompleteeducationalgoalsorrequirements. AsateacherinthecommunityIwouldliketobeinvolvedinactivitiesinanyway,and toshowsupporttomystudentsintheiractivitiessothattheyknowIwillbebackingthemup ineverysituation.IwouldliketothinkthatIwouldmakemoreactivitiesoutsideofschoolfor thespecialeducationstudentstodothatwouldunitethemasaclass.
