TUTORIAL 2 MATEMATIK

PISMP 2.02
WAN NURNADIAH BINTI WAN SALIM SHAKINA BINTI HASSAN MARDZATI BINTI OTHMAN

SOALAN 1

5 liter 3 liter = 2 liter 5 liter 3 liter = 2 liter 2 liter + 2 liter = 4 liter Bagi mendapatkan ukuran 7 liter air, sukat sebanyak 3 liter air menggunakan bekas berukuran 3 liter. 4 liter + 3 liter = 7 liter

SOALAN 3
Polyas Model :

1.Understand The Problem 2.Decide How To Solve The Problem 3.Carry Out The Plan 4.Look Back ( Check )

Problem Solving is easy if you follow these steps

Understand the problem

Step 1 Understand the problem

Read the problem carefully. Find the important information. Write down the numbers. Identify what the problem wants you to solve. Ask if your answer is going to be a larger or

smaller number compared to what you already

know.

Step 1 - Understand the Problem Find the important information.

A rectangle has an area of 40 square
meter. If the perimeter of the rectangle is

26 meters, what are the length and the

width of the rectangle?

Step 1 - Understand the Problem Write down the key information.

40 m of rectangle area,
26 m of rectangle perimeter,

Step 1 - Understand the Problem Identify what the problem wants you to solve.
A rectangle has an area of 40 square meter .If the perimeter of the rectangle is 26

meters, what are the length and the width of

the rectangle?

Problem Solving is easy if you follow these steps

Decide how youre going to solve the problem

Step 2 - Decide how youre going to solve the problem Choose a method
Use a graph Write an equation Find a pattern Use reasoning Make a table Use formulas Make a list Work backwards Draw a diagram Act it out

HERE A FORMULAS THAT WE CAN USE TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM

A=LW

40 = L W
2W + 2L = P 2W + 2L = 26

( NOTE : L and W can be interchanged in this problem )

Problem Solving is easy if you follow these steps

Carry out the plan

CARRY OUT THE PLAN ( DEVISE A PLAN )

A=LW 40 = L W ( I know 40 is a product of 2 and 20,4 and 10,or 5 and 8) 2W + 2L = P 2W + 2L = 26 Look at the possible answers that would fit the formula for the area of the rectangle.Then put the numbers into the formula for the perimeter.The numbers 5 and 8 are the two numbers that work for both formulas.

Problem Solving is easy if you follow these steps

Look back ( check )

LOOK BACK ( CHECK )

Read the problem again to be sure the question was answered. I found the length and width of the rectangle,5 meters and 8 meters. Check the math to be sure it is correct. A=LW 40 = L W 40 = 8 5 P = 2L +2W 26 = 2L + 2W 26 = 2 (8) + 2 (5)

RELATED STRATEGY ( USING A DIAGRAM )

Area : 40 square meter

Perimeter : 26 meter

The possible length of rectangle is longer than width depends on its shape. If 1 40 = 40,so the perimeter = ( 1 + 1 + 40 + 40 )

= 82 meter ( not suit to 26 meter )

If 2 20 = 40,so the perimeter = ( 2 + 2 + 20 + 20 ) = 44 meter ( not suit to 26 meter ) If 4 10 = 40,so the perimeter = ( 4 + 4 + 10 + 10 ) = 28 meter ( not suit to 26 meter ) If 5 8 = 40,so the perimeter = ( 5 + 5 + 8 + 8 ) = 26 meter ( according to the perimeter given )

i.

8 5 40 m

5m

ii.

5 5

8m

8
+ 8 26 cm

Hence, the width of rectangle is 5 m and the length of

the rectangle is 8 m.

SOALAN 4
4.

Apakah strategi strategi penyelesaian masalah.

Anda perlu membuang 4 cotton buds supaya menjadi 4 congruent segitiga.

LANGKAH PENYELESAIAN 1) FAHAMI MASALAH Murid perlu melakukan nya secara hands on.

16 cotton buds ( asal )

3) MENJALANKAN PERANCANGAN Untuk menjadikan 4 congruent triangles, murid perlu menggunakan kaedah cuba jaya. Murid perlu memilih mana-mana daripada cotton buds supaya segitiga menjadi empat.

Rajah 1 : 4 cotton buds dibuang daripada segitiga.

Rajah 2 : 4 congruent segitiga terbentuk ( keputusan )

Any suggestion?

CONSTRUCT TABLE

Question: How many hours will a car traveling at 65 miles per hour take to catch up with a car traveling at 55 miles per hour if the slower car starts one hour before the faster car? Steps taken to solve the problem 1) Understand the Problem 2) Choose a Strategy 3) Solve the Problem 4) Check

Solution : Hour Slower car Faster car 1 55

0

2 3 4 110 165 220

65 130 195

5 275
260

6 330
325

7 385
390

Check :

55 x 2 = 110, 55 x 3 = 165, 55 x 4 = 220, 55 x 5 = 275, 55 x 6 = 330, 55 x 7 = 385

65 x 2 = 130, 65 x 3 = 195, 65 x 4 = 260, 65 x 5 = 325, 65 x 6 = 390
