LIBRARY DIRECTORS REPORT In addition to Library Department Head Report There is a new trustee manual available at the State Library website. Brandie will email a chapter a month to discuss at meetings. Cathie and Brandie are talking about changing Wee Reads somehow to get more kids. The Reader update is concluded and improved the books. Brandie is looking at open source software which is free to track people using the public access computers so that they log in and it times their session. Money Smart

Week is in April and will consist of 2 after school programs for 2nd through 5th grade. Science DIY summer reading program is asking for community donations at this time. On March 8th Cathie and Brandie will have a Dr. Seuss birthday party story time. We submitted our accreditation application and should remain at Tier 3. We met 31 extra standards out of 33 available. The library budget that was approved by the city council will be less than we proposed. It will run shorter in materials but keeps the salary increase. Brandie attended legislative day at the State Library and brought back information about the legislative agenda including provisions on sharing teacher librarians. The library will hold passive teen programming stations next week for Teen Tech Week.
