Sew Soft Baby Slippers

I wanted some soft-soled shoes for my little daughter, but had a problem finding some that (a) were inexpensive and (b) didnt fall off of her little feet !his pattern for "oft #aby "lippers is a pattern Ive drafted and tested on my baby girl. !heyre $ui%k to sew, soft for little baby feet, and the elasti% around the ankles helps them stay on In this example, Ive de%orated them with ribbon, but the embellishment options for these are endless & use your own %reativity Materials: '() yard printed minkee fabri% (or flannel, polar flee%e, %otton, pretty mu%h anything would work ) '(* yard double-sided (+plush,) minkee fabri% (or polar flee%e) ' pa%kage '(*- elasti% ribbon or other embellishment Instructions:

4ut heel / toe pie%es from printed minkee fabri%, and sole pie%es from double-sided minkee fabri%. 4ut two 5- pie%es of ribbon 4ut two )- (si6e 7-5 mo) or ) '(8- (si6e 5-'8 mo) pie%es of '(*- elasti% Fold heel fabri% pie%e in half, wrong sides together. "ew a seam '(8- from the folded edge, %reating a %asing for the elasti% !hread the elasti% through the %asing, ta%king down on '()from ea%h end with several rows of stit%hing Fold the heel pie%e into a +9, shape with the elasti% %asing edge on the inside 0la%e a toe fabri% pie%e on either side of the heel pie%e, right sides together. :nds of heel pie%e should be flush with flat end of toe pie%es. 0in, then sew a '(8- seam (sewing three pie%es together)

!urn slipper to the right side, pulling heel pie%e away from toe pie%es "ew ribbon onto top toe pie%e if desired, '(8- from ankle !op stit%h two toe pie%es together, %lose to ankle

 0in heel pie%e to the rest of the slipper, right sides together "ew heel to slipper with a short, wide 6ig6ag stit%h, making sure you %at%h all three layers of fabri% (its a good idea to sew on%e with the heel fa%ing you, then flip the slipper over and 6ig6ag over the seam again from the other side)

Flip slipper right-side-out, pushing out the seams, and your done 3ake the 8nd one the same way.
