Play-Doh
There are many benefits towards playing with play-doh such as it helps build the children's imagination while at the same time engages them in cooperative play (Glen Dhu Children Services, 2013). Providing props (cookie cutter, rolling pin, and stencils) it will also help scaffold the child's imagination.

Movie Time
Conducting move night is a great way to spend quality time with your child(ren)! This learning experience is most beneficial when a movie of the child's choice is chosen (based on their interest). After the movie, asking questions is a great way to provide social interaction and creates conversations relating to how you and your child(ren) felt about the movie (National PTA, 2013).

Finger Painting
Finger painting is an experience that is enjoyed by all. Children love to use a variety of different tools when painting but what seem to be the most common ones are their fingers! (Percision Beef, 2008). Engaging in this learning experience will allow your child(ren) to enhance their fine and gross motor skills.

Story Time
Engaging in story time is a great way to build a stronger bond between you and your child(ren). While enhancing your child's literacy and language skills, you are also increasing their communication skills with yourself and with other children. Reading books to one another also helps your child(ren) to develop a longer attention span (Raise Smart Kid, 2012).

Scrap Booking
This experience is a great way to remind us of memories that you have shared with your child(ren). This experience involves cutting, pasting, gluing, and writing. (Kartha, D. 2010). Children really enjoy expressing their feelings which is best done through creativity and imagination. This experience allows them to use creativity skills and provides discussion after the scrap book is completed.

Drawing
This experience allows your child(ren) to practice using their eye hand coordination and fine motor skills. Children can take part in colouring books or creating a book that they draw in on a daily basis. Creating a drawing game can be a fun way to keep this experience going for a longer period of time! Drawings also help children understand words and definitions more (Wiki Parenting, 2013).
