Before taking this class, I had not decided on receiving my Masters or even

thought about the psychological aspect of nutrition. I thought that having a private

practice meant I could make my own rules, but now I see that a Masters degree is

important for self education as well as a good reinforcement for my future clients. I knew

before that the psychological aspect is very important in healthy eating, but I had not

considered adding mental health to my repertoire. I like the idea of my client trusting me

fully and not feeling like they are being bounced around as a dollar sign from office to

office.

A few programs that are of interest to me are the Master of Science in

Nutrition and the Master of Science and Clinical Health Psychology (MSNCHp) at

Bastyr University in WA. This school is a really good option because it is very close to

with myself though, and I am not sure if I like the idea of doing a graduate program at the

same time I do my internship, unless they are heavily connected. I must also be realistic

and weigh the monetary aspect of living in such a high-cost area.

There are not many campuses that offer Masters Programs in holistic therapies, so

I am limited in my selection. However, I have no preference geographically on where I

will receive my education. I feel that this is an area that is continuing to increase in

demand, so hopefully by 2010-2011 there will be a few more options.

If for some reason this option fails, I am not opposed to committing to an
