Imperfect tense

There are several different verbs that you will commonly use to talk about what something was like. C'tait plus an adjective can be used to give your opinion on something: c'tait fantastique! (it was great!) c'tait difficile (it was difficult) You'll often need to use avoir: j'avais (I used to have) il y avait (there was) tre is another verb commonly used for the imperfect tense: j'tais (I was) c'tait (it was) You can also use faire: je faisais (I used to do) il faisait (usually for the weather - it was...) And you will use aller - j'allais (I used to go).
