All staff members will complete technology research based professional learning that focuses on various types of technology and their instructional uses based on need based assessments. Grade level mentors will provide grade level support on how to integrate various tools during common planning periods.

During pre-planning (July), teachers will complete a technology needs assessment. During September and October, teachers will be provided with professional learning focused on different types of technology and possible instructional uses during faculty meetings. Small learning communities will also be formed during these months to provide further learning about these tools. Teachers will share how the tools have been implemented into their classrooms to meet the Common Core Standards in December and May faculty meetings.

Professional learning that focuses on using technology to promote higher order thinking skills will be provided to all teachers.

Opportunities will be provided for teachers to observe technology tools being used by a technology proficient teacher to promote higher order thinking skills. Grade levels will be assigned certain faculty meetings to share how their grade level is using technology to promote higher order thinking. Feedback and suggestions will be provided as needed.

Beginning in September, professional learning will be provided at least once a month and every other month this will continue through May. Additional opportunities may also be assigned as needed during collaborative planning times. By December, all teachers identified as needing to make improvements in this area will visit at least two classrooms.
