Here we encounter God as the Attist-Potter who desires to shape us into beautiful earthen vessels: It is not you who shape God; itis God who shapes you. If then you are the work of God, await the hand of the Artist who does all things in due season. Offer the Potter your heart, soft and tractable, and keep the form in which the Artist has fashioned you. Let your clay be moist, lest you grow hard and lose the imprint of the Potter’s fingers. We give you thanks, Yahweh, for we are fearfully, wonderfully made. Wondertul are your works. We have been fearfully, wonderfully made. We have given the necessary gifts for a ready response to the call of Jesus in our lives. Let us listen to Jesus’ call to the first disciples in the Gospel according to Mark. Mark 1:16-20 The frequency of the expression “and immediately” gives Mark's gospel a tone of excitement and urgency. The disciples drop everything and follow Jesus “immediately.” They model a ready response to the call of Jesus, but true conversion requires something more.
