Dear Mr.

Padget
As I writer, I can write very good papers if I put my heart into my writing. Sometimes I think writing can
be boring but most of the time I get into it when I have a good topic. From being in this class, I have
learned that writing is not an easy process. It takes time and effort to write an A quality paper. For the
most part, I think writing is fun. In the beginning of the semester, I really didnt like writing papers. I just
had to realize that when I take the time to write a paper and incorporate creative ideas, then writing
becomes fun. I value the creativity behind writing. Its almost like art in a sense. You get out of it what
you put into it. In regards to my research paper, if I could go back to the beginning of the semester I
wouldve changed my research topic. I found that my topic was hard to write about. I really enjoyed this
class overall this semester. All of my classmates were very friendly and participated during class
discussions. The workshops were very helpful. My workshop group members helped me tremendously
be editing my rough drafts. I enjoyed returning the favor by revising their papers because I feel as
though we all affect each others grade by giving necessary feedback. If we didnt have the workshops
this semester I think that I wouldve lost all motivation in all my final drafts. The major theme in this
course was social media. The assignments I enjoyed the most this semester were the reader responses.
It was like coming to class every day and writing in your personal diary. All of the reader response
journals have been reflected upon this theme and have really opened my eyes to the topic. Social media
has impacted society in positive and negative ways. At first I thought that the topic was irrelevant. But
the more reader responses and videos we watched in class, the more it became a reality to me. My least
favorite assignment in this class was the research paper. I felt as though the length requirement was too
long and that the topic I had was not going to be enough. I think I was better off changing my topic but it
just seemed like too much stress. Ive learned so much from English 1101 and 1102. I think what
benefitted me in 1102 was that I had you for 1101 so I was familiar and comfortable with your teaching
strategies. This class has changed my outlook on writing even more than English 1101. The fun you get
out of writing outweighs the boredom. I plan to incorporate writing in my everyday life. I see how
important it is to be a good writer. It not only gives you self-satisfaction, it helps you stand out above
everybody else. In this competition job market, standing out in the crowd will surely get you more
opportunities than everyone else. I will definitely miss English next year as I move on with my college
career.
Sincerely,
Cameron Lynch
