Utilizing Google Calendar

to Improve Communication
with Students and Parents

In the 2014-2015 school year, all Lindbergh High School teachers will be required to put their
homework onto a google calendar that will be accessible to students and parents.
Important notes:
We must add any assignments by the day given. (i.e., if an assignment is given Monday, by
Monday it should be on the calendar.)
Assignments must be entered with the appropriate code (see next page)
There must be one calendar per class (not per period)
Assignments should be entered as all day events (not during the specific time period of
the actual class)
OPTIONAL: Assignments beyond the current may be added at the teachers discretion; if
a teacher would like to put their daily agenda topic, that is voluntary.

RATIONALE: Students and parents need a streamlined method that will enable them to check all
homework from one central location. This will:
facilitate better communication with parents (PBTE 4c)
enable teachers to be on the cutting edge of growing and developing professionally in the use
of technology (PBTE 4e)
and provide effective structure and pacing to engage students in learning (PBTE 3c).
