Repertoire Analysis Form

Directions: Use the SHMRG acronym to help you gain a better understanding of your music before you
begin playing and performing it. Decoding your music prior to rehearsal and performance will lead to
deeper understanding of your repertoire, and may uncover a clearer path for practicing both on your own
and in class. In the chart below, provide as much descriptive information as you can in regards to the
repertoire. Be sure to include any unfamiliar vocabulary. Once you have gone over your first piece,
share your findings with a partner or small group. If others have insight you missed, write this new
information down on your sheet as well. Once we have discussed the entire piece in small groups, we will
report out our findings in class or on our classroom blog.
