Kristi Reyes successfully completed her practicum experience at Nanaikapono
Elementary School. She spent seventeen weeks observing, assisting, and teaching in my
Second Grade class. Our school is noted for a diverse population and our classes are
heterogeneously grouped, which offers a challenge to even our most experienced
teachers.
Kristis warm personality and rapport with the students were excellent. Her
knowledge of the subject was even noticed by other members in our grade level. Her
willingness to take suggestions, modify lessons, and experiment with new strategies
demonstrated her motivation and reflection about teaching and learning.
Kristi possesses a positive and enthusiastic personality. I have found that other
team members have accepted her as a strong working member of our team and she has
had a positive working relationship with each of them, as well as other staff members.
She was able to communicate effectively and she displayed many fine personal
and professional qualities. She carried out her responsibilities in a responsible and
dependable manner.
During the semester, Kristi took responsibility for teaching second grade and
assumed the duties of planning and teaching an entire unit. Because of her creativity and
enthusiasm for the subject, students responded positively to her lessons. Her students
grades in the areas she presented were above satisfactory. Her ability to manage daily
routine and the classroom discipline that relates to that were outstanding.
I am confident that Kristi Reyes will be an asset to any staff that she works with.
She is confident, knowledgeable, and has amazing skills. I believe that she will continue
to grow and become even more effective as a teacher with further opportunities.
In my opinion as a classroom teacher for 9 years, Kristi is an excellent candidate
for any school. She has tremendous initiative, a desire to continue to learn, and a
reflective practitioner outlook. Along with her command of the subject area and her
effective teaching, she is a model of an excellent teacher. She would be an asset to any
school.
