Teacher: Jaclyn Marta

Objectives:
(Short) Students will gain an understanding of what is expected on a resume and how to improve resumes with
issues.
(Long) Students will produce a quality resume to improve their technical writing and to use for possible future
employment.

and accuracy of each source and noting any discrepancies among the data.

Procedure:
- Open up PowerPoint, Introduce topic to students, and hand out wksts to students ( 2min)
- Run PowerPoint on resume information, checking for understanding throughout ( 30 min)
- I will encourage students as it begins to take notes as this is an assignment they will be doing in the next
two days for a grade
- Students will look at bad resume and good resume (18 min)

Materials:

Assessment:
Throughout the PowerPoint I will be checking for understanding. I will be asking students questions to see what
they have that would fit within these concepts ( where have you volunteered? What did you do?) Students will be
vocally stating information that will go into the resume that they will begin to work on the next class period.
Students will also be free to ask questions throughout the PowerPoint, to ensure they are understanding all the
information being presented. Once the PowerPoint is over, students will be given a resume with many errors and
they will work as a class to make this resume be one acceptable to be given in a job application. I will ask them why
this change needs to happen to ensure they can explain their own actions.
Accommodations:
