ABSTRACT

The proposed project present analysis and design of an electronic load controller
(ELC) for 3-phase self-excited induction generators (SEIGs) suitable for stand-
alone wind power generation. The SEIG can be used to generate constant voltage
and frequency if the load across its terminals is maintained constant. For this
purpose, we use ELC which diverts extra power to the dump load. The amount
of power to be diverted is signaled by the control system to the ELC.

The main goal of the project was to design a cheap control system which would
facilitate the installation of the large number of proposed Pico-Hydro Power
Stations across India which has not been possible until now due to the lack of a
cheap and robust control system.
