This year I will be teaching grade ! " and #$ and I can say that we have planned most of this years activities. %f course! there are still a lot of twea&ing to do! but its a lot easier when we use an online platform for support and collaboration I have reali'ed that students need consistency. (hen it comes to communication between teachers and students! I need to ma&e sure that they have access to everything I post for them. )y online tools have been extremely helpful but I have to find a way of concentrating my resources in )anagebac too. Consider academic ris& ta&ing* questioning and answering opportunities Consider transitions I have tried to create an atmosphere where students feel comfortable discovering! as&ing questions and being co*responsible of their own learning. (hen I face the challenge of students that are not engaged in an activity or tas&! I try to connect the tas& to the students personal interest. I want to try a new classroom administration software to &eep students focus on their tas&s and ma&e them more engaged. Its been a challenge to &eep them on their tas&s when they can switch windows to faceboo& or soundcloud. Instru"tion* Consider differentiation and use of the "$ min bloc& +re you a teacher ! facilitator or both, (hat would you say is your teaching style Consider assessment )ost of my formative and summative assessments in my Technology class are given during class time. -aving "$ minutes bloc&s has been very useful since most of my students can finish their assignments under my supervision. .ince my role is more li&e a /acilitator0Coach! students that usually need more supervision or individual guidance benefit from these longer bloc&s In most of my assignments! students can choose different ways for reaching the ob1ective of the tas&. They still have to write down a lot during most of the stages of the design cycle and they dont en1oy it that much. I have to figure out more ways of assessing their wor& and at the same time letting them do it according their own learning style.
&rofessional res'onsi+ilities* (hat do you do for students outside of your classroom, Consider after school activities! field trips! passing on the passion of your sub1ect! your own further studies in the field! meeting with faculty and meeting in the department. +re you an individual or a team player, +lso consider your own professional development 2ast year I wor&ed with some of the students in a 3hotography club and the few students that came! felt really excited about trying new things with their cameras. 4nfortunately! we werent enough to &eep it open! but I have still met with these students informally were we discuss about equipment! technics and they show me some of the pictures that they are still ta&ing. Im very proud of that since they are not my students but still they thin& I can help them or they can share 53hoto stuff6 with me. This year I will be coaching the long distance part of trac& and field and those &ids that 1oint last year seem excited to continue this year. I have also started our Tech committee and we have been very active involving teachers from 3rimary and .econdary as well as students! and &ey players from the different departments in school. I want to get more involved in professional development with teachers and also I want to collaborate more with my peers. I hope that having more classes wont interfere with my ob1ective because Im sure I can help my peers create a better environment using technology in the classroom. ,ther! +fternoon running 2ast year I ran the Two %ceans )arathon and I thought it would be great to have a 7unning team that could represent +I.) in such beautiful and prestigious event. )y wife and I started inviting people from all running levels to 1oin us to train and eventually be able to run an official race. Im very happy to say that the group participated in a local #8& race and many of them were .ince next year the %ceans marathon will happen during the easter brea&! I would li&e to begin a formal training wit the teachers so we can participate in the even. I &now its a big challenge! but Im sure I can motivate them enough to let them &now they will be able to do it. motivated enough to continue running as a regular activity.
