lecturebasedpresentation,usingPreziorLucidcharts.Iencouragedthesestudentstothink
abouthowtheirpresentationscouldchallengetheirclassmates(audience)tothinkcritically
abouttheConstitution,FederalismandAntiFederalism.Onegroupwasnotusingtheirtime
effectively,sitting,doodling,waitingfornewsoftwaretoloadononeoftheirgroupmembers
computers.Iencouragedthesestudentstotakeonteamroles,suchasresearcher,sothey
wouldhavetheinformationavailableoncetheywerereadytoputtheprojecttogether.Ithenleft
thegroupsalonefortherestoftheperiodtodeveloptheirprojects,offeringsometechnology
helphereandthereiftheyrequestedit.
MYOVERALLIMPRESSION:
Thereisaclearorganizationandstructuretotheclass,andstudentsunderstandthe
expectationswithminimalpromptingorcorrection.Forthemostpart,studentsremained
engagedwiththeprojectandworkedtogethercollaboratively(a21stCenturySkill).Itwas
awesometowitnessyoureducationpedagogyinaction,givingmeadifferentperspective.The
lessonwasverystudentcenteredandprojectbasedwithminimallecturing.
ONLYRECOMMENDATION:Perhapsaddanadditionalguidelinethattheteachable
lessons/presentationsmustencourageclassmatestoengageinproblemsolvingandcritical
thinkingincreativeways.
