Level One - New Teachers/Induction
Level Two -
Level Three -
Level Four -
SWIS Presentation - Daniel and Leanne
Homework Data--Hannah
Reading Workshop--Hannah and Alison
Differentiation - Owen (I want to lead this possibly at our next PD)
RTI Workshop - Keri and Daniel
Tech Tools for Teachers - Sharon
Problem Based Learning/Horizontal Planning/Dialogue (and connection with PBL) - Hannah, Nikki

Future Ideas:
Brain Breaks -
Reading Workshop--each month
New TCAP assessment and Common Core. Example: What will the new SS assessment look like?
How will this test be proctored online at our school?

SS TEAM: OTHER TOPICS YOU WANT PRESENTED AT A FUTURE PD WORKSHOP? PLEASE WRITE
YOUR IDEAS BELOW:

4) Informal classroom observations by myself and colleagues. Please start requesting that I sub
for your 8th hour classes so you can observe other teammates. I also want to observe your 8th
hour classes. I do not want to walk in by surprise so if you have a lesson you want to share, please
ask me to come over. I can also arrange with some LA teachers to cover your classes if you want to
observe me teach during the day.

Owen - Please be advised that my 8th period is French 1. You are still welcome to visit.

5) NHD - Those of you who are participating: Im attending an NHD conference on 9/26-27. I will
present any new information I learn to you at our next SS meeting on 10/3.

SS TEAM MEMBERS PARTICIPATING IN NHD: How are you planning to introduce it to your classes?
Will it be a separate module, taught over a several week period? Or will you integrate within a unit?
Stick with same content-specific topics by grade level as last year or grant the students more
freedom this time?

PLEASE WRITE YOUR THOUGHTS:

Owen: I plan to focus on NHD for 3-4 weeks and possibly eliminate a unit (module), or at least
shorten one. I am also granting more freedom for students to choose topics and stress those
unusual local topics which have not been overdone in the past.

6) 8TH GRADE TEACHERS: HOW DID THE NEWLY FORMATTED 8TH GRADE ASSESSMENT GO?
SUCCESSES? PROBLEMS? DID YOU ALLOW THE STUDENTS MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS OR CHANCE TO
REVISE (ESPECIALLY THEIR INFOGRAM OR 1-PARAGRAPH RESPONSE)? WHAT SHOULD THE NEXT
ASSESSMENT LOOK LIKE?

Future discussion for 10/3 or after. How closely are the 6th and 7th grade tests mimicking the
skills which will be tested on on the new TCAP?

7) How do we erase students from Canvas that are no longer in our courses?
Owens response: You need to send the list of student names to me, by class/grade level, and I will
delete them. Have I missed one of your requests?
