Problem Statement
Malaria, an infectious disease, caused by a plasmodium which is
spread by the Female Anopheles Mosquitoes, causes about 3,000
children deaths each day in Africa and around 1,000,000 deaths per year.
Malaria causes seizures, kidney failures, and fevers and many other
symptoms. Malaria kills red blood cells, which damages the body
tremendously. It affects people across the world.
Our project goal is to raise at least 25 dollars to donate to Malaria no
more to send malaria tests and treatments to kids in Africa.
The Actions We Took
1. Find a non-profit corporation that accepts donations to provide help for those
affected by malaria
2. Organize when and where the fundraiser will take place
3. Decide what to sell in order to raise money to help people diagnosed with
malaria
4. Buy products to make lemonade for fundraising
5. Make lemonade, flyers, and signs to raise money for malaria
6. Donate money to the non-profit corporation, Malaria No More
7. Write a thank-you letter to Sorena Nadaf acknowledging his help

Why We Took This Action
We chose to use Malaria No More because their website was more organised than many other
organizations with a clear explanation of where your funds would be going. We also like the idea of
our funds going to help people of a more impoverished country that would otherwise not be able to
help themselves with this issue. Each dollar that we donated went towards 1 treatment therefore our
37 dollars may have helped 37 kids get over their malaria infection. Overall our small donation helped
more than 2 classrooms full of kids in Africa.
