Directional Solutions
Tool Face Control is Critical
when directionally drilling with fixed cutter drill bits on steerable motor assemblies, however, this should not be at the detriment to
penetration rate. Variation between sliding and rotating modes will place different demands on the drill bit in terms of cutting
structure, but also the gauge geometry. The latter will affect the amount of drag and resultant borehole quality.
