The purpose of this study is Getting Cashew Nut Shell Liquid (CNSL) from cashew nut shell by solvent

extraction method using methanol. Knowing the influence of the mass ratio and the volume of
solvent as well as the time spent on the results of cashew nut shell oil produced. Determine the
properties of Cashew Nut Shell Liquid fisikokimiawi (CNSL) through the analysis of density, viscosity,
and the content of constituent compounds.
Extraction used in this study using solvent extraction with n-Heksane with 1:4 ratio of solvent future;
1:6; 1:8; 1:12, as well as variations in stirring time of 120 minutes, 240 minutes, 360 minutes and 480
minutes at a temperature of 300C. CNSL is then analyzed with analysis of the nature
fisikokimiawinya yield, density, viscosity and FTIR
The analysis showed that the stirring time and the mass of the solvent effect on the yield value. The
highest value is 26.67% randemen at the time of 240 minutes. CNSL density values obtained the
lowest value in the sample D (1:12) with a value of 2.7878 g/cm3 its density, whereas the highest
density values in sample A (1:4) of 2.8287 g/cm3. Viscosity value according to the highest quality
standards of India ie the mass of 1255.33 cP solvent 1:4 and the lowest value of 960.89 cP viscosity
with solvent mass 1:12
From the results of this analysis are supported by FTIR and phytochemical test results and based on
the literature and databases showed extraction anacardate main compound with molecular formula
C18H23O3 and not compound kardol.
