Reading Programme
Overview
An independent reading
programme that combines
reading practice (graded
readers) with an online reading
assessment (quiz).
Aims
Support students in the development of
their English skills.

Promote independent reading and reading
for pleasure.
Programme Used

M-Reader
An international online programme, originated at
Kyoto Sangyo University in Japan.

Hosted by the Extensive Reading Foundation.

Over 3 500 quizzes based on graded readers,
covering a range of publishers.

Graded Readers

Graded readers can be found in the
boxes in the Libraries.

The quiz can be accessed from the
following website: http://mreader.org/

The quiz is compatible with both laptops
and iPads.


Administration
Students and teachers are registered
individually on the programmes by the ILC
staff.

Students use their ID number for their login
and password.

Any problems, please contact ILC staff.

Timeline
Late February
Orientation of students (once class numbers are settled).
Registration of all students.
March 2
nd
Reading Challenge begins!
Access to quizzes teachers will need to book a time in
the ILC.
ILC staff support in assisting students accessing quizzes in
the first two weeks.
Reading Challenge leaderboard will be posted every
week (Monday).
May 15
th

Reading Challenge finishes.
Award Ceremony Presentation in the following week.
