The paper is worth 80 marks
40 for section A combined
and 40 for section B
A part questions are
persuasive pieces.
The first will ask you to argue
the case for one point of
view
You must then develop a
persuasive argument for the
opposing view

B part questions are balanced
answers, that need to
include multiple views with
equal points for these views

emotional or personal opinion
Authority having influence, permission or rights to make decision

Your answers must be made up of continuous
prose (no bullet points)
Use good English and use specialist vocabulary
where appropriate
Organise information clearly eg
Each paragraph must try to follow PEEL pattern and
have a purpose
It is a good average to aim to make 3 points on one
particular view ie 3 paragraphs for 20 mark
question, 6 for a 40 mark to make it balanced.
