PRESS STATEMENT

As a policy and in line with keeping to cost cutting and austerity measures
passed by the Machakos Government Cabinet, all Machakos County vehicles
are being ftted with green plates to ensure proper use of the vehicles and fuel.

So far, all vehicles assigned to Executive Committee Members have been
ftted. As part of this policy, the Deputy Governors ofcial cars Prado Nos.
KBG 266C and KBY 215B were today 7

July, 2014 recalled for ftting of the
Green No. plates.

We have received reports that the Deputy Governor is refusing to comply and
has instead politicized the issue.

We wish to inform the Public that this is normal Government process and is
not political. The vehicle, like others belonging to the County Government of
Machakos, is being ftted with the green plates and will be available for use
once Kenya Revenue Authority releases the plates. The Deputy Governor has
in the meantime, been assigned Subaru Outback No. KBY 032B for use.
