ACCOUNTING INTERNSHIP
3 Units










COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course is a required subject for all BSA senior students. It is designed to provide students
with the necessary skills and exposures to job and apply the theories and knowledge learned on
the job training. It also aims to give students opportunity to work and experience actual
operations in the real business world.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

At the end of the semester, the students are expected to complete 300 hours of on-the-job
training in a business-related organization preferably in the Accounting/Finance Department or
in an accounting firm in order to enhance their skills and talents in the field of their
specialization.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS:

To receive a passing grade, the intern must submit the Student Internship Report (SIR) not later than
October 11, 2014 (Saturday) in a book bind containing the documents attached, particularly
the Field Experience Report.


Parts of the Field Experience Report:

Description of the Organization
- which includes organizations vision and mission, physical description, organizational
structure, primary practices and all relevant information pertaining to the organizations
operations.

Job Description
- which includes description of the interns role in the organization and how the interns
work was supervised. In other words, the report should explain how the intern provided
services to the organization and what functions he or she performed during the
internship period.

Evaluation
- which discusses the connection between the relevant accounting or management
course work taken in the previous semesters and the internship experience. The report
should explain how the internship has helped to prepare, or shape the future goals of
the student for future employment or educational pursuits.

Personal Observations
- which include personal perspective on any skills and knowledge acquired during the
execution of assigned tasks and areas for improvement, or any weaknesses identified in
the implementation of the internship program


NOTE:
Failure to attend our eight (8) required class sessions
would bear significant decreases in your final grade.
