"I just want to be able to do the things that I did before," Corcoran said. "So many
people have my back, I feel like I can do it. I'm trying my hardest to enjoy being alive."
Corcoran hopes to one day be able to run a 5k race on her prosthetic legs.

that DiMartino, of Rochester, N.Y. got down on his knee next to Gregory's wheelchair
and proposed with a ring he had custom made after the attacks.
"I think it kind of helped me to see what an amazing woman she is and how strong she
is. ... So I had to jump on it before somebody else did," DiMartino said.

short life really is and how we don't really know how much time we have
left. And I know that with my time there is nobody else I would want to

News highlights
As these victims and others strive to move forward with their lives, a group in
Massachusetts has organized an event to honor the first responders who helped save
lives at the April 15 attacks, according to Boston.com
(http://www.boston.com/news/local/massachusetts/2013/10/08/grouphonor-boston-marathon-firstresponders/wT7cWVMVs20opEYTr0E1LI/story.html).
The Hundred Club of Mass. Inc. will also recognize MIT Officer Sean Collier and MBTA
Officer Richard Donohue for bravery. Collier was killed by the bombing suspects, while
Donohue was shot and critically injured during a police showdown with the suspects in
Watertown, Mass.
But the effects of the blast extend beyond those injured at the finish line. Security is
being tightened at the upcoming Ironman World Championship on the Big Island of
Hawaii's Kona Coast this Saturday.
Pacific Business News
(http://www.bizjournals.com/pacific/blog/morning_call/2013/10/ironmanofficials-in-hawaii-tighten.html) reports that race officials are banning backpacks
and asking spectators to leave bags at home and report suspicious activity along the
race course.
