Ns / Np = Vs / Vp (Ns X Vp) /Vs = Np (40 X 120V) / 6V = 800 turns in the primary

Power input = 200W Vp X Ip = 600W Ip = 600W/ 120V = 5A

Vs =6V power input = 200W
Power input = power output power input = Vs X Is
Is = 200W/6V = 33.33A

The assumption made about the transformer is that it is ideal and there is no
power loss.
Power input = power output
Explain (make plain make clear): when direct current flows it sets up
magnetic fields in one direction only.
For transformers to operate there must be magnetic fields which change
direction constantly, so as to cause breaking of such field against the
secondary coil and so induce current in it.
