Week 13

My final week interning has arrived. So far, I have to two assignments, which I am excited to
complete. My first assignment is to take as many selfies that I can with CS! staff, and enter
them in a contest for the "est senior care agency in #elaware Co$nty. I am g$essing this was
assigned to me to see how diffic$lt it is getting staff to do activities that are non%work related
d$ring work ho$rs. $t of 1&& staff only '& staff participated in the selfie photo challenge.
My final assignment was to meet with vario$s staff in CS!(s !ssessment $nit and
Information and )eferral $nit. *he p$rpose of meeting with the two $nits was to identify any
fre+$ent iss$es occ$rring, and changes either $nit(s policy. *he goal is to strengthen the
systematic activities in the Information and )eferral $nit, "y developing a monitoring tool. *he
monitoring tool will eval$ate the f$nctionality of c$rrent system, to ens$re acc$racy, and
constancy with all of the referrals or general calls that are received from CS!(s Information
and )eferral ,nit. My finding indicates that the Information and )eferral $nit co$ld get improve
"y doing the following-
!ttend .S /asics *raining to know how to cond$ct protective services investigations
"ased on the #epartment of !ging reg$lations. *his co$ld red$ce the amo$nt of errors
when completing a )eport of 0eed.
!ttend comm$nity assessments with 0$rse Cons$ltants for in home services. *his will
give the Information and )eferral worker an idea and "etter $nderstanding of an
!ssessment visit.
1ave phone calls monitored for acc$racy.
,tili2e the skill set activity codes.
!ssist in researching reso$rces and s$"mit information for CS! we"site. !ttend $nit
meeting in !ssessment $nit meeting to disc$ss any changes or iss$es.
I feel that "oth assignments were great experience for a f$t$re administrator. 3etting
staff involvement for vario$s activities was more challenging than I tho$ght it wo$ld "e.
!fter all who doesn(t like to take pict$res4 I fo$nd it a little diffic$lt to interview my
peers, regarding their work ethic. !s an administrator sometimes we will "e p$t in
$ncomforta"le sit$ations to make important decision for the agency.
