Week 14

As I reflect on the last 14 weeks, I realize that I had a great internship experience. I managed
to complete every goal on my internship learning contract. I attended administrative staff
meeting, learned abot the agency bdget expenditres, gained a lot of insight from my sight
spervisor, and I feel like I am ready to be an administrator of a hman service agency. I noticed
things within the agency that cold improve and informed my sight spervisor.
I am thankfl to work at an agency that promotes growth and allows employees to be flexible
with their work hors and intern within the agency. I think my site spervisor is very
knowledgeable and valable resorce for !"#A. $owever, if I cold have been able to %it my
&ob and intern at a different agency I wold have. 'hat wasn(t ideal for me becase I have a
family and bills to pay. I wold have wanted to intern at the )A, *ed !ross, or a psychiatric
hospital.
+y advice to ftre intern wold be to be adventros, if they cold afford to. #tep otside of
yor safety zone. If yo are sed to working with seniors, try working in a different area, like
children and yoth. #ometimes we don(t know what waits beyond the door, nless we open the
door. I en&oyed my internship class. +y classmates were very helpfl and diverse in their work
experience. It was awesome to express to the class yo thoghts and feeling abot how yor
individal internship was going. +y professor was very resorcefl and encoraged the class to
start thinking as an administrator. 'he hman service field provides a wide range of services. In
every class we focsed on a different poplation.
