ATTENDANCE
Attendance is important and must be continuous to ensure your opportunities to succeed. You are responsible for all notes, class work, and assignments given on the day of the absence. It is also important that you are in the classroom and ready to work promptly.
If you have more than 10 absences, according to CMS Policy, you must sign-up for Credit Recovery with the teacher or you will automatically fail the class for the semester.
I. GRADING
Your grade will be a combined total of the following: 1. Informal Assessments (Homework, Classwork, & Quizzes). Includes daily assignments, any other outside class work, warm-ups, notes, and worksheets. Homework, Classwork, & Quizzes scores will be weighted to account for 40% of each quarter grade.
2. Formal Assessments (Test, Projects, Major Quizzes, Performance Task). This is individual work graded for correctness by the teacher. Tests are given at the end of each unit. Each test is worth 100 points. Formal will be weighted to account for 60% of your quarter grades.
The following scale will be used to determine the letter grade: F D C B A 0 - 69 70 - 76 77 - 84 85 - 92 93 - 100
I will also be grading certain home and class assignments on a 4-point rubric. 4 100% 3 92% 2 84% 1 76% ***If you wish to know your childs grade at any time, you may log onto Parent Portal. - Call Vance @980-343-5284 and ask for your username and password
Make Up/Late Work Student should plan to make up class work/tests and missing assignments within five days of returning to school. Retake Policy
Original test must be signed by a parent to indicate they know about the test grade. Test corrections must be completed on another paper. Students must bring both Original Test signed and Test corrections in order to retake or they will not be allowed to retake that day.
Please let your teacher know what day you want to stay so your test will be available. You must have a ride home by 3:45. The retest grade stands! This is not a highest grade wins opportunity. If your retest grade is lower, that is the grade you get, so study for the retest.
