are the man and the raven.
• What is the main theme?: The main theme of the poem is the
man’s despair because of the death of Lenore.
• When does the action take place?: “The bleak December”;
nighttime.
• Where does the story take the reader?: The story takes the
reader into the man’s mind, and shows how he feels about losing
Lenore.
• Why do you think the author wrote this piece of literature?: I
think the author wrote this piece of literature to express what he
was feeling. He may have written this if he was going through a
difficulty in his life, coping with a loss, or trying to recover from
something upsetting.

• Report the literacy style, genres, themes: The literacy style of
The Raven is poetry. The genre of the genre of The Raven is
horror and dark romanticism. The themes of The Raven are
death and gothic.

• Analyze what you think the author wanted his audience to know
and feel: I think the author wanted his audience to feel the pain
the man felt about losing someone he loved. I also think that
that author wanted the reader to be able to know and connect
with the man and his story.

• In Poe’s life, what cause his point-of-view to have such a skewed
perspective: Poe is said to have gone through a really tough life,
filled with death and suffering, so this is probably what caused
his perspective of life to be so skewed.
