Hi professor,

As you know, yesterday we had a big rain in Athens because of this crazy winter and
many streets were covered by water. A few minutes ago when I was waiting the traffic signal to
cross the street at Sanford Drive, a UGA bus just passed over a puddle throwing water
everywhere, including me, thereby Im totally soaked. Many people also got wet and mad at the
same time, because the bus driver should not be speeding in that street. Because of this, Ill not
able to attend your class today. Unfortunately, I didnt bring any extra piece of clothing, this way
I have to go back home to change my wet clothes for dry ones. The problem is not only attending
your class with wet clothes but also get a cold by getting wet during the whole day. I understand
that attendance is important as well as the content of your classes, but I had no luck today. Could
you allow me to give you the homework assignment tomorrow or send it by email for you? Ill
be aware at the next time if the street is wet. I hope you understand my situation at this time.
