Energy Needs -

Undernourishment is a health condition when foods
taken in have insufficient nutrients, calories, or protein
needed by the body

Over-nourishment is an unfavorable health condition
in which the amount of nutrient taken in by the body
exceeds body requirements for normal growth and
development.

Nutritional needs - nutrients needed that we
consume in order to maintain our bodys healthy
state.

Proteins - all foods made from meat, poultry, seafood,
beans and peas, eggs, processed soy products, nuts, and
seeds are considered part of the protein foods group

Carbohydrates are composed of a diverse group of
foods that include grains, fruits, milk, and vegetables.

lipids and oils foods in this group include butter,
margarine, salad dressing, mayonnaise, sour cream,
oils, lard, and nuts.

Minerals minerals from foods can be grouped into
macrominerals and trace minerals. The macromineral
group is made up of calcium, phosphorus, magnesium,
sodium, potassium, chloride, and sulfur while trace
minerals includes iron, manganese, copper, iodine, zinc,
cobalt, fluoride, and selenium

Vitamins is a small molecule that body needs to carry
out a certain reaction. Vitamin molecules come from
food. The human body is known to need at least 13
different vitamins.
