An enrollment of approximately 24,000 students makes the Public
Schools of Robeson County one of the largest school systems in the
state. 42 schools in Robeson County 75% of high school graduates opt to further their education at two or four-year institutions. The ability to collaborate with the University of North Carolina at Pembroke and Robeson Community College gives students access to programs (mentoring & tutoring) and facilities in addition to what is already in place. Workforce Development Program offers learning programs such as JobReady, college tech prep, and high schools that work. They underline the foundation and employment skills and educational pathways necessary to pursue career interests.

Magnolia School was established in 1855. 1885-1991 Magnolia was a high school serving students grade level 9-12. In 1992 Magnolia became a elementary/middle school serving children grades k-8. The magnolia family is committed to providing the very best educational opportunities for all students. Their goal is to provide the kind of school one would want for their own children. Home of the Trojans! In the future there will be a advancement within technology at both Tanglewood and Magnolia schools. At Magnolia, they are considering using technology as initiative for their students. Students will receive their own personal ipads for school use, this will allow students to record lessons, complete worksheets, assignments, and projects without using a single sheet of paper.
Additionally, a database will be created for teachers to post grades online. There will be no need for the traditional hand written grades. This will give parents access to their child's grades at any time.
Magnolia is also working to become more energy efficient by installing motion activated lights. Tanglewood was build in 1889 named after Mr. Albert Tanglewood. Tanglewood once served students graded levels K-4, recently (2010) this changed to K-3 due to budget cuts. 2013-2014 Tanglewood had a total of 534 students and 31 teachers, leaving the student/teacher ratio 16 to 1. Tanglewood is a Title I school, ensuring that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high quality education and reach state academic achievement standards.

As stated earlier, in the future there will be an advancement within technology in both Tanglewood and Magnolia schools. At Tanglewood teachers will begin using interactive write boards.
In addition to, creating visual morning and afternoon announcements for student during class rather than using the traditional intercom. These visuals can also be used to shoe website and other interactive resources to students.
