Leader: *hen Jesus as(ed his disci%les who they
thought he was" and eter recognised him as the
Christ of $od" the +rst thing he did was to insist
that they tell no one- The second thing he did was
to tell them that he would suBer and die- 7nd he
then said: 54f anyone wishes to follow me" let him
renounce himself" ta(e u% his cross and follow
me- .e was saying" 5the %ath is not easy" #ut
dont #e afraid of it #ecause it is worthwhile-
The 'ord is teaching us that yes we will struggle"
#ut there is a %ur%ose to it- 7ll the time we are
#eing formed: we are growing: we are learning to
lo/e and ser/e: #ut often that doesnt ha%%en
easily- Then when our time of ser/ice is o/er the
'ord comes and #rings us home- *hat is
im%ortant is that we are heading somewhere and
there is a %ur%ose to it- *ith this" we also
remem#er that the 'ord Jesus is with us the whole
time" guiding us" teaching us" encouraging us:
%resent to us in each mass in an e=traordinary
way-
Just li(e eter who said that Jesus is the Messiah
and the Son of $od" and the disci%les who shared
the news and stories of Jesus" we must also
s%read the word of the 'ord in our li/es where/er
we go- *e must connect with our family and
friends and ma(e time to #uild our %ersonal
relationshi% with Jesus" and understand how .e is
%resent in our li/es- *hat does ha/ing faith in
Jesus as the Son of $od mean to you,
